Costco has announced the opening of two new warehouses in the Bay Area this fall. Based on information from the giant retailer’s website, two new stores are slated to open in Napa and Pleasanton in October. However, the exact opening dates have not been announced.
According to the North Bay Business Journal, the new stores in Napa and Pleasanton will each span about 157,417 square feet in size.
Costco Wholesale Corporation, simply known as Costco, is a membership-only retail company with curated products sold in bulk and at discounted prices. The giant retailer deals in a wide range of products ranging from groceries to appliances and personal care items.
Costco was founded in Seattle in 1983. Ten years later, in 1993, the company merged with Price Club, another retail warehouse, to form PriceCostco which eventually became Costco Wholesale in 1997. The company has grown to become the third-largest retailer in the world according to 2021 statistics by Statistica. With 129.5 million loyal members as of November 2023, the company has over 876 warehouses across Australia, Canada, China, France, Iceland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The new store locations in the Bay area will offer a range of products atypical to regular Costco warehouses worldwide. These products range from food court and bakery to pharmacy, optical services, a hearing aid testing center, and tire sales and installation.

The exact date for the opening of the new Costcos in Napa and Pleasanton has not been confirmed yet. All we know is that they are set to be opened in October.

Location of the Napa Store
According to the North Bay Business Journal, the Costco store slated to open in Napa will be located near the intersection of Kaiser Road and Syar Way.
The new store location in Napa will offer bakery, pharmacy, and optical services, along with a hearing aid testing center, food court, and tire sales and installation. As is typical of the membership-only retailer, the store will have a gas station to complement the warehouse.
Currently, the other Costco stores in the area are in Vallejo, Fairfield, and Vacaville.
Location of the Pleasanton Store
While the exact address of the Pleasanton store is still unknown, it will be located on Johnson Drive, right across from Stoneridge Shopping Center, which is separated by Highway 680.
Just like the Napa warehouse, the membership-only store in Pleasanton will deal in a wide range of products—from bakery and pharmacy to optical services, a hearing aid testing center, food court, and tire sales and installation.
The other Costco warehouses in the area are located in Livermore and Danville.
