The Walmart Wellness Day is on Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. local time, and about 4,600 pharmacies will be hosting it nationwide. This wellness day is to help families prioritize their health this back-to-school season. Walmart customers can receive free glucose, cholesterol, BMI, and blood pressure screenings, as well as affordable immunizations for flu, HPV, tetanus, hepatitis, and lots more. Some Walmart stores will also feature vision screenings, making it easier for customers to access the necessary resources.

According to Kevin Host, Walmart’s senior vice president of pharmacy, Walmart is thrilled to provide affordable health options for communities nationwide.

“As a back-to-school destination, Walmart’s Wellness Day provides a unique opportunity for families to streamline health needs and school supply shopping,” he said.  “It’s one of our favorite times of the year, and we are thrilled we can provide affordable health options for communities across the country on Wellness Day to help start the school year off strong.”

The importance of Walmart’s Wellness Day

Walmart’s Regional Health & Wellness Director, Shantay Peloquin, praised the company’s work.

“Our Walmart Health & Wellness team is proud to once again participate in two of the biggest back-to-school fairs in America,” Peloquin said.

“We look forward to providing important health and vision screenings and being a resource for students and families across the Metroplex as they start a new school year in the coming weeks.”

Walmart Wellness Day allows families to communicate with pharmacists about health issues they are too busy or unable to investigate. Experts will also discuss ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and customers can learn about Walmart Health & Wellness offerings and solutions.

The Wellness Day events will feature the following health resources, administered by qualified pharmacy and Vision Center teams:

  • Free health screenings, including glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI, and vision screenings (select locations).
  • Affordable immunizations, including COVID-19, flu, HPV, pneumonia, tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chickenpox/shingles), whooping cough (TDAP), Hep A & B, and more.
  • Wellness resources and the opportunity to talk with pharmacists.

Walmart Wellness Day has been hosted by Walmart Pharmacies since 2014 and has contributed more than 5 million free health screenings for customers. Walmart has more than 4,000 stores in areas with a shortage of medical professionals, which gives them the upper hand in offering medical services, as Walmart is often the first stop for healthcare in these communities. To find where this free wellness day is being hosted in your community, visit Walmart.com/wellnesshub.
