The latest alert concerning ice cream products goes further than just ice cream, also comprising of maple syrup and possibly other items due to reasons associated with Listeria health hazards. The warning relates to the notice issued by TreeHouse Foods on October 18 and concerning Loma Linda’s routine testing for Listeria at its plant. On October 22, the recall was further extended by TreeHouse Foods to include all items produced in that particular plant which are still within the expiration period. The affected products now include various brands of frozen toaster waffles and Belgian waffles as well as pancake products available in the United States and Canada.
The products subject to this recall have been sold to numerous shopping outlets, including Albertsons, Aldi, Dollar General, Foodhold, HEB, Kroger, Publix, Target, Trader Joe’s, and Wal-Mart. A few selected and best-selling brands impacted by this recall alert include 365 Organic, Great Value, Kodiak Cakes, and Simple Truth.
TreeHouse Foods declared the expanded recall owing to further inspection conducted at the production facility.
