Can you receive $725 monthly stimulus checks in California? These are the Americans eligible for the February payment

Understanding eligibility for California's $725 monthly stimulus checks in February

Californians are receiving a monthly stimulus check of $725 via the Family First Economic Support Pilot (FFESP) scheme. Low income families stand a chance to benefit from this program as it is designed to help them manage their necessities, including housing, food, and child care. It started in December 2024 and is due to continue until November 2025. However, not all Californians are eligible, your eligibility depends on some very limited criteria.

Who is eligible for the $725 monthly stimulus checks?

For you to be eligible to receive $725 every month, there are some requirements you have to meet including:

  • Residency: You must be living in any of these Sacramento counties with these ZIP codes – 95815, 95821, 95823, 95825, 95828, or 95838.
  • Income level: Your household income must be below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). This means that if there are two persons in your home, they should earn less than $40,880 every year, with only $10,760 allowed for each extra family member.
  • Family composition: For your family to be eligible, you must have at least one 5 years old child that lives in your family if not all the time, at least 50% of the time.
  • Demographic focus: This program is particularly focused on helping families with children who are American Indian, Alaska Native, or Black/African American,  to address economic disparities in these communities.

Is the application period still open?

The application window for this program is now closed. The last date to apply was  October 13, 2024, and only 200 families were selected.

When do eligible families receive their payments?

The benefit is given to qualified families on a monthly basis here. Starting from December 15, 2024, this benefit would go on until November 15, 2025. Money is transferred directly to the recipient’s bank account associated with their tax returns.

Can recipients of SSI, SSDI, or social security benefits qualify?

The program does not specifically prohibit recipients of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and  Social Security beneficiaries. However, the program has its own requirements. So if you pass their requirements, particularly their income limit eligibility requirement before you can qualify to be part of this program.

What if you missed the application deadline?

If you had missed the deadline on October 13, 2024 then you can not participate. Regardless there are still many such opportunities and that requires you to be more attentive to related news.
