Donald Trump, the Republican Party presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, on Thursday, the 6th of August spoke with reporters in his Palm Beach Mar-a-lago resort, Florida, admitting that his campaign has agreed to three presidential debates on Fox News, NBC News and ABC News, in September.
Recall that this is coming after Donald Trump had earlier called off the scheduled debate on ABC News update on August 3. Trump made this known via a post on Truth social. However, on Thursday, the 6th of August, Trump stated that the scheduled debate for ABC News Network is still on.
The Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris who was at a Union Hall in Detroit Area on the 6th of August with her running mate, Minnesota governor, Tim Walz to speak with members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) stated that she was, in fact, open to another debate. In her words “I am happy to have that conversation about an additional debate, or after September 10, for sure”.
On August 8, Kamala Harris took to her official X handle to announce her decision to her followers. Confirming that she will debate with Trump on September 10 which is slated for the ABC News Network.
Reasonably, these debates are an opportunity for both parties to air out their policies and plans for America but whether or not Kamala Harris will accept the other two debates proposed by Trump on Fox and NBC News Networks are still left for Americans to speculate as Kamala is yet to make an official statement regarding her stance on Trump’s proposed presidential debate on Fox and NBC News Networks.
So it’s only been confirmed that Kamala Harris has agreed to a debate against Trump on ABC News by September 10.
The proposed date by the former U.S president and Republican candidate Donald Trump with Fox News and NBC News Networks are scheduled for the 4th and 25th of September respectively.
As speculations by Americans continue to increase with regards to Kamala’s stance on these debates, a spokesperson from NBC confirmed that the network have been conversing with both campaigns on choosing a suitable date. The spokesperson stated that a range of dates has been considered, including the 25th of September.
