JD Vance the vice presidential nominee for the Republican Party cum former president Trump’s running mate is set to go on a debate with Minnesota governor, Tim Walz, the Democratic candidate for Vice president and Kamala Harris running mate. The public has been eagerly anticipating the VP Debate and with both campaigns reaching an agreement on when to finally have their debate, there are discrepancies on the actual dates, time and how to witness this debate online or on TV.
When is the VP Debate
On Wednesday, August 14, CBS News proposed four dates for the Vice presidential debate between JD Vance and Tim Walz, that is, September 17, September 24, October 1 and October 8 hoping for each campaign to select a date and reach a consensus.
Following the proposal by CBS News, Tim Walz immediately responded on the said date by picking October 1st. Walz shared his choice officially on his X handle, formally known as Twitter.
In his words “See you on October 1, JD”.
JD Vance, however, shared his stance on Walz decision to debate him on October 1st by the next day, Thursday, the 15th of August.
Vance took to his official X handle, quoting Walz post he stated his stance and invited Walz for a CNN debate on the 18th of September. Stating his desire to debate Tim Walz on both News channel.
“The American people deserve as many debates as possible, which is why President Trump has challenged Kamala to three of them already. Not only do I accept the CBS debate on October 1st, I accept the CNN debate on September 18th as well. I look forward to seeing you at both!” said Vance, the Republican Vice presidential nominee.
In response to JD Vance request to debate Walz earlier, on September 18th, the communications director for Kamala Harris campaign, Michael Tyler stated that Walz will only debate Vance on October 1st via the CBS News Network.
So right now, the VP debate will only take place by the 1st of October unless both campaigns decide to have another debate.

According to CBS, Norah O’Donnell, the evening news anchor and “Face the Nation” moderator, Margaret Brennan will moderate the VP-debate coming up by October 1st.
