These will include a really interesting combination of former US presidents, international world leaders, and personalities from the worlds of technology and entertainment who have publicly announced that they will attend Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025.
Former US presidents and first Ladies
A number of former US presidents will be there to show continuity and respect for the democratic process:
- President Joe Biden: The incumbent president will attend, in contrast to 2021, when Mr. Trump did not appear when Mr. Biden took the oath.
- Former President Barack Obama: He will attend but former First Lady Michelle Obama will not.
- Former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush: The Bushes will attend; they have kept coming to inaugural events over the years.
- Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: They will likely attend, having done so for many milestone moments in modern American history.
International guests
President-elect Trump has invited a smattering of international guests-the guest list is reflective of his diplomacy to date:
- Chinese President Xi Jinping: He is invited, though he is believed to plan to send a high-ranking envoy to the ceremony.
- The President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele, the President of Argentina Javier Milei and the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni: The trio have all been invited in a reflection of Mr Trump’s reaching out to like-minded regimes.
- The one-time President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro: The one-time President of Brazil, it is believed would go and has already intimated interest subject, amongst things, to issues concerning a passport.
Tech giants
It is understood technology executives invited include :
- Elon Musk, Tesla and SpaceX Chief Executive: Mr. Musk will attend, a sign of his relevance to national affairs.
- Jeff Bezos, Amazon Founder: Mr. Bezos is expected to attend, a sign that his icy relations with the new administration may be thawing.
- Mark Zuckerberg, Meta Platforms Chief Executive: Mr. Zuckerberg will attend, reflecting the technology industry’s outreach to the new administration.
- Sundar Pichai, Alphabet Inc. CEO: Mr. Pichai’s presence shows that tech policy is one of the critical areas this term.
- Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO: Mr. Altman will be in attendance, which suggests a place for artificial intelligence in future policy conversations.
Entertainment industry and other notable figures
The event will also be graced with performances and appearances from several celebrities:
- Carrie Underwood: The country superstar will sing “America the Beautiful” during the swearing-in ceremony.
- The Village People: With the lead song, “Y.M.C.A.,” this band tries to get the whole country together in song as they are set to appear at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally.
- Rascal Flatts: These country crooners have not toured since the announcement of their breakup in 2021 and have their first gig during the inauguration festivities.
- Logan and Jake Paul are among the influencers who have announced their attendance for the inauguration.
Security and logistical preparations

The Secret Service has developed a plan in conjunction with both federal and local agencies to account for a multitude of potential threats, while also tending to the mass crowds that have overwhelmed Washington, D.C.
