Ahead is a view of the recalls, what has warranted them, and which models have been affected.

BMW recall: Overheating starter motor

The German luxury carmaker is set for a recall of some 105,588 vehicles due to a serious hitch regarding the starter motor. The company indicated that should the starter motor experience failure, successive attempts to start the vehicle could lead to overheating as a consequence of electrical overload. Overheating could ignite the combustible materials that could be situated near the engine compartment, increasing the risk of a fire.

To remedy this issue, BMW dealers will update the software in the recalled vehicles. Owners of the recalled vehicles will reportedly begin receiving letters notifying them of the recall by September 23, 2024. For further assistance, vehicle owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417
