Thanksgiving is all about family, friends and more significantly, sharing with our fellow men, especially those who are less fortunate. This is an important holiday that is celebrated on every fourth Thursday of November and is dedicated to giving thanks. All over the country, many agencies and firms are providing free meals and especially turkey giveaways for the disadvantaged sections of the population. If you are in need or if you want to assist in some way, here are several venues providing food and turkeys this Thanksgiving that you can use:
Chicago’s Bronzeville restaurant is cooking up a feast for all comers eyeing a meal stuffed with crab legs fried crab rice turkey cornbread stuffing macaroni and cheese. To join the meal come to Bronzeville in Chicago on Thursday November 28 at 12 PM onwards. The restaurant’s address is 641 E. 47th St., Chicago, IL.
Also, McDonald’s through the Black McDonald’s Operators Association (BMOA) in Chicago and Northwestern Indiana, is also providing turkey and meals for veterans and their families. To receive the giveaway, veterans are required to present their military ID. Food distribution begins at 8 AM at two locations:

In New York and New Jersey, several community groups have organized free turkey and food distribution events to support local families.
Jack & Ronnie McGreevey Turkey giveaway
This event will take place on November 14, from 1 PM to 3 PM, at 73 Martin Luther King Drive, Jersey City, NJ.
Solomon Thomas Turkey giveaway
Hosted by New York Jets player Solomon Thomas, this event is scheduled for November 13, from 6 AM to 7:45 PM, at Interfaith Food Pantry Network, 2 Executive Drive, Morris Plains, NJ.
The Gardiner Foundation giveaway
Food distribution will occur on November 23, from 9 AM to 3 PM, at 2550 Jerome Avenue, Bronx, NY.
Community giving Dinner & Action Center Boutique
On November 26, meals and gifts will be distributed at the Brownsville Neighborhood Health Action Center, located at 259 Bristol Street, Brooklyn. The event starts at 12 PM.
