Models of Honda, Ford and Suzuki are included among the 735,000 vehicles recently recalled. Here is everything you need to know

Recently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) declared reinstatements regarding 735,000 vehicles and their various models including that of Honda, Ford, Suzuki, and other manufacturers. This recall is as a result of faults noticed in these vehicles like fuel leaks or problems with steering mechanisms which can possibly be dangerous if the issue is not fixed. If you own any of the affected models, here is all the information on the recall and the actions you should take.

How to check if your vehicle is affected by a recall

If you are wondering if your car is part of this latest recall, checking is straightforward. Simply visit the NHTSA’s recall database and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to see if there are any open recalls on your vehicle. This tool will provide information on both current and past recalls for your specific model.

Details of the Honda recall for fuel leaks

Honda’s recall affects over 720,000 vehicles due to a potential fuel leak that could increase the risk of a fire. Here are the Honda models included in this recall:

  • 2023-2024 Honda Accord
  • 2023-2024 Accord Hybrid
  • 2023-2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid
  • 2025 Honda Civic
  • 2025 Civic Hybrid

For owners of these models, Honda will perform inspections and necessary repairs, free of charge. If you own one of these vehicles, it is essential to check with your local Honda dealer or contact Honda Customer Service to confirm your vehicle’s status.

Ford recall for steering issues

Ford has issued a recall for around 2,400 vehicles due to an issue with the front upper control arm. According to the NHTSA report, “the front upper control arm ball joint nut may not have been installed or tightened properly, which could allow the control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly,” leading to steering loss.

The Ford models affected include:

  • 2024 Ford Ranger
  • 2024-2025 Ford Bronco

Owners are advised to contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332, where a free inspection and repairs will be arranged if necessary. Ford’s internal reference number for this recall is 24S64, and notices are expected to go out by October 28.

PACCAR recall for engine stall

PACCAR is recalling around 5,690 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks due to a potential engine stall risk caused by a fractured fuel pump barrel. If the engine stalls while driving, it can significantly increase the risk of an accident.

The specific models affected are:

  • 2025 Kenworth (models C500, T680, T800, T880, W900, W990)
  • 2025 Peterbilt (models 567, 579, 589)

Dealers will replace fuel pump barrels at no charge. PACCAR has set a recall notification date for December 22, but you may also contact Cummins Customer Service if you own one of these models.

Suzuki recall for brake fluid issues

Suzuki is recalling around 6,338 motorcycles for a brake fluid port blockage issue. According to the NHTSA report, the blockage could increase the distance required to stop, leading to a higher risk of crashes. The recall affects:

  • 2022-2024 Suzuki GSX1300R (Hayabusa)

For affected Suzuki motorcycle owners, dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder body and brake fluid cap diaphragm free of charge. You can contact Suzuki Customer Service and expect recall notices by October 25.

Steps to take if your vehicle is recalled

  • Check your VIN: Visit the NHTSA website or contact your dealership to confirm if your vehicle is included.
  • Schedule repairs: Most recalls involve free repairs or part replacements, so reach out to your dealership promptly.
  • Stay updated: Manufacturers will send notifications, but keeping in touch with your dealer can help speed up the process.

Staying informed about vehicle recalls and acting quickly ensures you and other drivers stay safe on the road. If your vehicle is listed, take the time to get the repairs done for peace of mind.
