LL flooring formerly known as Lumber Liquidators, has recently made an announcement that it will close over 90 of its stores across the United States following the company’s filing of chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sunday, August 11. However, Americans are anxious to know the specific store locations that will be closed by LL Flooring.
Why is LL Flooring closing stores
LL Flooring is closing stores because the company is currently facing “macroeconomic challenges”. In the words of the President and Chief Executive officer of LL Flooring, Charles Tyson, “After comprehensive efforts to enhance our liquidity position in a challenging macro environment, a determination was made that initiating this Chapter 11 process is the best path forward for the Company”.
Evidently, LL Flooring has been affected by significant changes in recent years such as inflation, like many retail stores which has forced the company to close over 90 of its stores across the united states. As noted by Fox Business, the company has already closed down 94 out its more than 300 store locations across the country.
Tyson also added “Today’s step is intended to provide LL Flooring with additional time and financial flexibility as we reduce our physical footprint and close certain stores while pursuing a going-concern sale of the rest of our business”.
Clearly, the company is taking strategic steps to manage its financial crisis and its decision to close some of its store locations is part of the plan. The company is not shutting down entirely.
At the moment, the company is negotiating with various parties to sell off its business and hopes to find a suitable buyer in the first few weeks after filing for its Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
However, even in the face of the financial crisis by the company is still concern about its customers as Tyson added “ As we move through this process, we are committed to continuing to serve our valued customers, and to working seamlessly with our vendors and partners”
