This time around McDonald’s is celebrating the holiday spirit with a special Happy Meal which seeks to motivate young children to share. As of November 26, McDonald’s will unveil Pet Simulator Happy Meals, which perfectly aims at delighting children and their friends and includes some innovations as well. With every meal comes a set of two Pet Simulator toys, one for the kid who is having the meal and another one the kid is supposed to give away to some other special person.
The Pet Simulator toys are based on the well-known games of the Roblox game building platform, a combination of real life and gaming. Each of the 18 random toys has a figurine and stickers, so that children can make their own. In an attempt to keep up with the times, the children are provided with a modernized application in that they can scan the packaging of the toy and gain access to the gaming package that is digitally offered. It is Ms. Chioma’s view that this element makes the entire process of gifting something more interesting and enhances the overall experience of the holiday meal.
A Happy Meal for sharing
McDonald’s Vice President of U.S. Marketing, Brand, Content & Culture, Jennifer “JJ” Healan, said that the global fast-food is dedicated towards practicing and promoting to be kind in every festive season. In her words, “This limited edition Happy Meal is made available for children who we encourage to begin sharing during this holiday time. Sharing comes naturally when it comes to McDonald’s, be it sharing fries, McNuggets or even a McFlurry and so we thought why not let even the kids do some sharing together with the Happy Meals .” Healan praised the creative process behind the development of the Pet Simulator Happy Meal, stressing that the pet toy is deeply symbolic because it is meant to be ‘given away’, be it to a brother, a friend or even a compassionate passer-by.
The charitable dimension of the Happy Meal has not only been included in the food item but also goes beyond that. This year, looking forward, there is also a patronage of the Ronald McDonald House Charities which celebrates 50 years in operation. Diners are given an option of rounding the overall bill and this money goes towards the organization that helps families who have sick children, which further emphasizes McDonald’s goodwill initiatives to the societies where they operate.
From November 26 to December 16 or while stocks last, the Pet Simulator Happy Meal shall be on offer at designated McDonald outlets across the country. The prices for meals are not uniform since every location tend to set its own price according to the owned local restaurants. Families eager to join the merry season’s campaign need not wait any longer as they are set to enjoy this offering at their closest McDonald’s and experience the joy of the holiday season.
