Mr. Christmas has announced a recall of around 44,600 wireless tree light controllers. The recall is due to a fire hazard associated with the white wireless receivers that come with the product and can overheat when plugged into an outlet, posing a serious danger.
Controllers were available in stores like Walmart and Target as well as Cracker Barrel and sold on their sites from July to November 2024, with a price range of $25-$40. Each version of the controller has its own design:
- Walmart and Cracker Barrel models feature a festive peppermint candy shape with a candy cane-shaped lever for turning the lights on and off. They are labeled as “Christmas Light Controllers.”
- Target’s Wondershop™ model has a square design with red, green, and white decorative balls and is labeled “Tree Lighting Switch.”
The devices bear the tag “Mr. Christmas” and have the model numbers: 39611, 39612, or 39630. All versions come with a white wireless receiver that plugs into an electrical outlet and connects to the holiday tree lights.
Stop using these controllers immediately, and get in touch with the store to get a complete refund, non-academic.
