Retailers sign up for holiday sales with huge discounts – Here are the best deals from Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy…

Major retailers are giving away huge discounts for holiday sales. Read to know which products are on discount sale

With the holiday season now coming to a close, most big-box retailers begin their post-Christmas sales. Deep discounts across a huge array of products are available: from electronics to home goods, one can find just about anything at prices low enough to make it worth shopping through the post-holiday sales. Here is a look at some of the best after-Christmas sales from prominent retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy.

Post-holiday shopping trend overview

Consumption by Americans in terms of spending, through the year, proved quite strong; for December retail sales, estimates indicate upswings of 2.5% to 3.5% versus a year ago. Estimation by the National Retail Federation puts shoppers’ spend on purchases at almost $1 trillion dollars during November and December. In many cases, retailers do find themselves in a relatively reduced holiday shopping window as anxiety about inflation starts affecting buying activities; hence, considerable desperation around post-holiday promotion.

Retail analysts say this year’s post-Christmas discounts are a bit more generous than they were last year. Retailers are pulling out all the stops to drive demand and persuade consumers to keep on spending as they close out the holiday season, says Neil Saunders, retail analyst at GlobalData.

Best deals from major retailers

Amazon

Amazon usually has a wide selection and competitive prices, and this post-Christmas season is no exception. The online giant is offering up to 40% off some items, including:

  • Apple AirTags: These are now available for $70 for a four-pack.
  • Dyson Cordless Stick Vacuum: Now half-price, which makes it a decent option for anyone in the market to upgrade their cleaning arsenal.
  • Kitchen appliances: The other kitchen gadgets also come with deep discounts.

Daily new deals are also added where the best discounts are mainly reserved for Prime members.

Walmart

Walmart is running its year-end-clearance with huge discounts under the following categories:

  • Air fryers: At a 50% off
  • Artificial Christmas trees: Discounted by up to 70%.
  • Home essentials: There are many daily use items which are discounted.

The Walmart strategy is to focus on their everyday low prices but then also be very aggressive about competing with other retailers during this time of high demand shopping.

Target

Target has started its holiday clearance event offering discounts as deep as 50 percent off some items, including:

  • Holiday decorations: Perfect for those that like to get a jump-start on next year.
  • Clothing and shoes: Almost everything is on sale.

Target executive vice president, Rick Gomez, reiterated that the retailer is focused on offering deep discounts across the board to help consumers keep the festive spirit.

Best Buy

Best Buy is having a “Ring in the New Year” sale live through early January with some of their deepest discounts on things like:

  • Electronics: Laptops, TVs, and headphones are up to 50% off.
  • Home appliances: There’s a good percentage off major appliances as well.

This is a great time for people to upgrade their tech and home needs as they coast into the new year.

Other notable retailers

Not wanting to be left out, some of these other retailers have nice sales going on as well:

  • Lowe’s: Up to 30% off major appliances and holiday storage items through January 8.
  • Hobby Lobby: Clearance items up to 75% off, a big help for crafters and such.
  • Ulta Beauty: Savings of up to 45% off select beauty products and gift sets.

All these are representative of a larger trend by retailers to clear inventory and drive customers to their stores with exciting promotions.
