Costco customers should check their fridges and freezers after the retail giant issued urgent recalls for two products: Kodiak Buttermilk & Vanilla Power Waffles and Rock River Cattle Co. Smoky Hibachi Seasoned Beef Skirt Steak. Here’s what you need to know about the recall, including the affected lots and labels.

There were some urgent recalls from Costco for two products that have been possibly purchased by its customers. The products include Kodiak buttermilk and vanilla power waffles, alongside Rock River Cattle Company’s Smokey Hibachi seasoned beef skirt steak. If you are a customer, you need to know more about the problem with these products, such as affected lots and warning labels.

Kodiak Power Waffles Recall: Check your boxes

The Kodiak Buttermilk and Vanilla Power Waffles recall was because of the forty pack boxes sold at Costco outlets in Midwestern states from July 15th, to August 25th, 2024. Specifically it is calling back the lot with a UPC code of 705599019203 which has a sell date of January 10th, 2026, lot code 24193-Wl4 and was produced between twelve o’clock and eleven o’clock PM. To determine whether or not you might have been affected or have bought these products, you need to check for the details mentioned above.

Some batches of this product have been reportedly contaminated with soft plastic film that is why the company has recalled these products. No injuries or ailments have however been reported so far but Costco is still urging people against consuming waffles matching these lots. Costco stated that they are taking these precautionary measures to ensure customer safety.

If you realize that you possess any of the affected wares, you need to take them back to your nearby Costco outlet for a full refund. The shop’s policy on returns is straightforward: whether or not you have a receipt on hand, all defective items can be taken back here.

Beef Skirt Steak Recall: Allergy alert

The second recall is the Rock River Cattle Co.’s Smokey Hibachi seasoned beef skirt steak, primarily sold throughout the Southeastern part of the U.S. All the packages that have been recalled bear a sell by date of 13th September 2024. The problem? Notably, these packages had labeling flaws since they did not indicate possible allergic agents such as soybeans, wheat grains and sesame seeds. For individuals allergic to any of these items consuming this kind of steak is a very big risk.

Consequently Costco has advised people on checking their beef skirt steaks immediately when they buy it from them. If you are allergic to soy beans, wheat grains or even sesame seeds please do not eat this product at all. The same guideline applies if there is someone else in your family who is also allergic to them. Just like in the case of Kodiak waffles, affected persons can take back their steaks into various Costco stores and get refunds in full.

What you need to do next

If you find either of these products in your home, do not consume them. Return the items to Costco for a refund, and if you have already consumed them and experience any symptoms, seek medical advice immediately.

Costco is working closely with the suppliers to ensure all affected products are removed from their shelves. The company stresses its commitment to the safety and well-being of its customers.

Costco’s proactive recall measures highlight the importance of staying vigilant and checking product labels and packaging carefully to ensure your household is safe from potential health risks.
