Walgreens is a global retail leader in retail and wholesale pharmacy, well known for their pharmaceutical services in America, but they are also players in the grocery, beauty and healthcare industries.
Walgreens successfully operates over 9,000 retail stores. Most of these are spread across America, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The store also caters to the needs of over two million people who visit their stores daily across different locations.
Instacart is a leading delivery company. They operate out of North America but have partnered with 600 companies across different locations. Instacart has a specialty for taking and processing orders for same-day deliveries. This success in their operations has given them a presence in 85% and 75% of homes in America and Canada, respectively.
The partnership allows people on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to use their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards to purchase groceries at Walgreens. This partnership introduces seamless services to customers, courtesy of Walgreens and Instacart.
Making the announcement, Walgreens says that the collaboration underscores their commitment to expanding access to essential food items for their customers. In addition, the partnership removes the burden of transportation to the store for purchase, which is usually on buyers.
Through the partnership, it is now easier for families and individuals to shop for what they need. Customers also now have access to an efficient, highly relevant customer experience. In the end, the ever-changing needs of the customers will be satisfied.
