In 9 days, the Social Security Administration will pay out checks ranging from $943 to $1,415 to older residents who are either disabled or are 65 years old and above. The payment by the government, which has increased since January 2024, has been in place to cushion the cost of living for citizens who can no longer earn a salary after their years of working or for individuals who are disabled.

What makes one qualified to receive the payment?
The qualifications to receive the payment monthly have been made easy for those who meet the criteria to receive them. The payment, while open to many people, is specific to only certain individuals who meet requirements set out by the Social Security Administration. These requirements include the following:
- The individual must be an American citizen.
- The individual must either be disabled or be at least 65 years of age.
- The person who will receive the payment must have a limited income or is no longer able to work as they are now retired.
- Non-citizens can also receive the payment. However, they must be able to meet the criteria needed for receiving the payment specified by the Department of Homeland.
- The Social Security Administration must be able to access the financial records of the applicant, provided they have permission to do so.
- The application must be completed before the payment is given out in the month of September.
Is $1,415 the highest payment?
The $1,415 is the highest payment that can be paid out by the Social Security Administration. This payment is reserved for couples who both meet the qualifications laid out by the SSA. The couple will get to receive a joint payment of $1,415, which will then be split equally between both of them.
However, if either of them does not qualify, then only one will receive the payment of $943. The payment could also increase as certain states also supplement the payments, making it increase even more for the recipients who need it.
